Case (A) was developed around the strategic decision of “Should the company turn to producing epidemic prevention devices?” Instructors are expected to guide the discussion on the strategic dilemmas and choices during a black swan event. Case (B) describes how the company addressed the huge challenges faced after switching to producing medical protective clothing. Instructors shall guide the discussion on how strategic decisions are efficiently executed and what value chain activities are taken. Case (B) then introduces a new strategic decision as the pandemic came under control in China. Case (C) introduces Cabbeen Fashion’s latest progress and plans. It discusses the synergy effect of a diversified business portfolio and raises an inspiring question: How can an enterprise in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) scenario gain resilience, turn challenges into opportunities, and survive and grow despite the difficulties?
The three cases are closely related and gradually reveal the overwhelming and exciting environment under which the entrepreneur made strategic decisions. They involve a wide variety of management skills and leave abundant space for analysis and discussion.
