Am I qualified to apply for Educator access?

Access is restricted to faculty members or PhD candidates actively teaching at degree or diploma granting educational institutions. If you would like to clarify if you are qualified for access, please contact us at cases@ivey.ca

 

I am an instructor, how can I preview cases and teaching notes?

Verified faculty members are granted access to preview case studies and teaching notes, prior to purchasing. You will need an approved Educator Account first in order to view and download cases and teaching notes. Should you need to request an account, please Register and select the Educator role. 


Account registrations are processed within two business days. You will receive an email once your account has been approved for educator access.


  1. Login to your existing faculty account or register for a faculty account by clicking on the following link: https://www.iveypublishing.ca/s/login/SelfRegister
  2. Locate the products needed using our search bar. Click on the product title to access the product details page. You can also click on the title of each product listed in your coursepack via your coursepack link to download educator copies.
  3. To download the teaching note and inspection copies of the selected case, click on the “Educator Copy” and “Teaching Note” green icons on the right hand side of the case title. If you do not see this option, select the format as ‘pdf’ and language as ‘English’ for products with multiple translations.
  4. Any additional material, if available, can be downloaded by scrolling the bottom of the product page and clicking on ‘Supporting Materials’

 

Examination copies and teaching notes are for instructor use only. Should you wish to use material in your class, proper quantities need to be purchased.


How do I build a coursespack?

  1. Begin by logging in to your Ivey Publishing account.
  2. Click on your username to the top right of the webpage and select Coursepacks from the drop down menu
  3. Select Create Coursepack and fill in the required fields marked by a red asterisk. Any student instructions will be visible to students when they access the coursepack page to purchase.
  4. Once all fields are filled, click Create.
    1.  Please note, these fields are editable by clicking on Edit.
  5. To start adding products, click on Add
  6. Type in the product title or Ivey product number then hit Enter. Select the correct product and click Add to Coursepack.
    1. For products with multiple versions, please check the product title to select the correct language product as other language options will be available.
  7. Click Done when you are finished adding products.
  8. To rearrange products, place your cursor inside the product box or hold the arrow icon with your mouse and drag up or down to rearrange.
  9. To delete a product, click the trashcan icon to delete.
  10. Click on Preview to download a preview copy of the coursepack. Any hidden materials will not be included in the coursepack PDF as this will be released to students as a separate download on the specified date and time.
  11. To share your coursepack with a colleague or faculty member to view and modify your coursepack, click on Share.
  12. Under Collaborate, start typing the name in the search box. Click on the colleague’s name to select and click Share. Coursepacks can only be collaborated with colleagues within your institution with an active account on our website. If you are unable to locate the name of your colleague, ensure they are registered on the website before sharing.
  13. Review the list when all products have been added to the coursepack. Products can only be added or deleted prior to the coursepack being finalized. Once you are ready to make the coursepack active, click on Finalize.
  14. Click on Share to share the coursepack purchase link with students.
  15. There are two ways to share the link with your students:
    1. Copy the link and post it to an LMS, include in a course syllabus or share with students via email.
    2. Click on Send Instructions to send an email with coursepack instructions to your students.

Type the students email and click Send Email or click Use Mail App to open your default email application to send the email.

 

Can I make reproductions from examination copies?

Examination copies, with a diagonal watermark, are for review use only and cannot reproduced, posted or distributed in any form. webpage.\ For more information on copyrighted material, please view our Copyright Basics webpage.


Can I distribute case files to my students electronically? Can I post cases files to an LMS (Learning Management System)?

Permissions can be purchased by administrators and faculty to post cases online for student access. Once your order is placed, you can download the case files and upload them to a password protected LMS for the duration of the course (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, D2L, Learn, Blackboard). 


Distributing digital case files via email is prohibited.

How do I place an order on behalf of my institution?

  • All users must have an account or be logged in to their existing account to place an order.
  • If you need to request an Educator account, please Register for one. Access is approved within two business days and you will receive a confirmation email.
  •  Login to begin placing an order. Once you have located your product(s), add them to your Shopping Cart. 
  • For institution pay orders, enter the quantity needed and proceed through the checkout. You will be asked to enter course information for which the product(s) will be used, and to agree to terms regarding permission use. Once you complete the order, digital case copies are immediately available for download.
