Professor, International Business
Ivey Business School
Dr. Andreas Schotter is the Endowed Bank of Montreal Professor of Strategy and International Business at the Ivey Business School and an adjunct professor at WU Vienna. His research examines how multinational enterprises navigate strategic disruption—digital internationalization, boundary‑spanning leadership, and the future of work, for which he was named John H Dunning Fellow.
Andreas served as Faculty Director of Ivey’s MSc in Management (2014–2018) and as Academic Director for Ivey’s CEMS MiM (2014–2022). He was also an elected member of the CEMS Program Subcommittee. In 2021, he co‑won the inaugural CEMS "Philippe Louvet Teaching Innovation Award" in collaboration with Ladislav Tyll (VSE Prague) and Massimo Garbuio (University of Sydney). During the COVID-19 pandemic, he delivered the CEMS Block Seminar on Managing Disruption in Global Organizations at the London School of Economics (2021–2022) and now teaches annually in WU Vienna’s CEMS program, including courses on "The Future of Work and the MNE" and "Competing Globally in a Decoupling, Deglobalizing, Exponential Technology World” which are consistently among the highest‑rated courses in CEMS.
A committed case-method educator, Andreas has authored nearly 30 published cases with teaching notes and has received major teaching/case-writing recognition (including the EFMD Case Writing Competition, AMBA’s Mark Vandenbosch Teaching Award, and WSJ Distinguished Professor of the Year award). He regularly facilitates case‑writing and case‑teaching workshops internationally, with a practical, publication‑oriented approach that helps participants turn strong field insights into teachable cases.
