This case study analyzes the challenges and opportunities to build a roadmap to a modern version of Lebanon - a country vision named Lebanon 2035. The case analyzes economic, social, and development indicators in the country, and proposes policies and actions to achieve a modern Lebanon by the year 2035.

Learning Objectives

1. Understanding that countries are confronted with “multi-crisis” (economic, financial, social, refugees, etc.) which makes the decision-making process highly complex. 2. Political reality: having a democratic Constitution does not guarantee that the country operates under efficiency parameters. 3. Small countries in conflict regions are constantly influenced by the neighboring countries, making their independency very costly. 4. The role of multilateral organizations (i.e. IMF) can face great difficulties if the country is not able to accept and implement reforms.
