This case examines the funding decision faced by the founders of BharatAI Innovations Pvt. Ltd. (BharatAI). BharatAI is an early-stage artificial intelligence (AI)–driven software-as-a-service (SaaS) start-up serving Indian small and medium-sized enterprises through its lead management platform, EnqBooks. By 2025, the company had achieved early traction, reached break-even, and validated product-market fit. However, growth remained constrained by limited capital, rising competitive intensity, and increasing expectations for AI–enabled features. The founders needed to decide whether to remain bootstrapped or raise external funding through angel investors, venture capital, or strategic partnerships.
