On the morning of May 2, 2025, a recently elected councillor in Regina, Saskatchewan, prepared to make her way to City Hall. Having run a strong campaign that earned her a seat in the November 2024 municipal election, the councillor now faced one of the most consequential decisions of her term: a final council vote on whether to proceed with public water fluoridation in Regina or reverse course. What was truly in the best interest of Regina’s citizens: approving the addition of fluoride, or declining it in favour of alternative approaches?
