Designing The Employee Experience In Edison

Edison is the oldest energy company in Europe, with a history going back more than 135 years. It is directly involved in the challenge of energy transition, an objective that is guiding the company's development in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and innovative services for the end market. This challenge creates the need for new skills, especially in data analysis and modeling. To cope with this, in 2018 Edison decided to redesign its own Employer Value Proposition and consequently the Employee Experience in the various stages of the Journey of critical roles for the near future (e.g. Data scientist, Energy manager...).
The case describes Edison 2019-2030 strategy, the skills needed for the future in terms of workforce, the creation of the Employer Value Proposition. It also describes the Persona of a Data Scientist. An HR Persona is a design thinking tool that depicts the typifying aspects of those who are or could be employed by an organization. Participants are asked to design HR actions and projects for the different phases of the hypothetical Employee Journey of this Persona.
