Little Canada is a miniature-world theme park located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The attraction was created to celebrate the beauty of Canadian cities and landscapes, taking visitors on an immersive journey through the sights and sounds of Canada in miniature scale. This Digital Learning Experience describes Little Canada's journey in engaging Indigenous knowledge, experiences and perspectives; through consultation and representation. This learning experience also introduces participants to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Actions, specifically analyzing Little Canada’s actions in response to CTA #92. At the culmination of the DLE, participants are asked to formulate recommendations for Little Canada's future steps in enhancing their approach to reconciliation and Indigenous representation at the attraction.

Learning Objectives

The case is intended for a Strategy course or a module/unit within a Social Enterprise course. It is recommended for either undergraduate or graduate level. For business schools or institutions, it may consistute part of their response to Call To Action #92.

After working through this Digital Learning Experience, participants will be able to:
  • Describe Little Canada’s vision as an organization and the learning and sharing it seeks to facilitate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Explain Little Canada’s approach to engaging with Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (specifically Call to Action #92).
  • Analyze the actions that Little Canada has taken to empower and collaborate with indigenous perspectives in response to Call to Action #92 (hereafter CTA #92).
  • Formulate a list of next steps for Little Canada based on recommendations from Naheyawin (consulting).
  • Create a guide on how other Canadian organizations could approach this work by drawing on Little Canada’s experience in delivering on CTA #92.
