Learning Objectives

By following the real-time challenges experienced by a woman-led for-profit social venture bracing for the impact of COVID-19 global pandemic, this case introduces learners to the nuts and bolts of system transformation. Learners analyze and discuss how Planet Abled’s unique and global-award winning model defied multiple types of stigmas before the global pandemic. As its activities come to a grinding halt in Part (A), the founder and her team have to replace a minimum of 10% of their top line to survive and ensure mission continuance. In Part (B), as they proceed to experiment with alternatives activities, the mission and the model begin to shift. In Part (C), the founder initiates system change.
