About the Workshop

Ivey Publishing, in collaboration with the China Business Case Center, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University (CBCC), will provide support for the 4th MBA Programs Excellence Case International Workshop, hosted by the China National MBA Education Supervisory Committee and the Working Committee for MBA Professional Degrees of the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Society.

Through the Workshop, participating faculty members will systematically engage with advanced case development methodologies, transform the rich practices of Chinese enterprises into high-quality teaching cases, and further enrich global business classrooms with Chinese perspectives.

The workshop is designed based on the Center's years of case development expertise, case teaching experience sharing from faculty of renowned universities, and Ivey Publishing's case methodology. It aims to help faculty from higher education institutions across China strengthen their case writing capabilities, align Chinese management cases with international case publication standards, and contribute more high-quality teaching resources rooted in the Chinese context to management education worldwide.

This Workshop represents another important initiative built on the long-term collaboration between CBCC and Ivey Publishing. It is designed to introduce internationally recognized case writing methodologies into faculty development and training systems in China.

About the China Business Case Centre

To date, CBCC has developed a case library of more than 2,000 teaching cases on Chinese enterprises, with more than 150 new cases added each year. These cases cover all major disciplines of business administration.

Since 2009, CBCC has established strategic partnerships with Ivey Publishing, and other publishers, and has published more than 130 teaching cases and innovative videos globally. 

About the Facilitator

Hubert Pun

Professor, Management Science

Ivey Business School

Hubert Pun is the professor at the Mangement Science area group. In 2022, he was honored with the university-wide Western Faculty Scholar Award in recognition of his groundbreaking research on blockchain business applications. He has also been consistently acknowledged for his teaching excellence, earning Ivey Dean’s Teaching Commendation Letters (top 10% of Ivey faculty) and being named to the University Students’ Council Teaching Honor Roll in 2016/2017. Additionally, he has received the Research Merit Award (top 10% of Ivey faculty) for eight consecutive years (2019–2026). In 2023, as one of the top recipients, he was named one of two holders of the prestigious J. Allyn Taylor/Arthur H. Mingay Chair. His case, "General Motors: Supplier Selection for Innovation," was the runner-up top seller of the year (2022-2023) at Ivey Publishing. Another of his cases, "Royal Bank of Canada: Bitcoin Mining and Climate Change?" is the winner of the “Finance & Banking” category in the 2023 EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) Case Writing Competition. Finally, his case, the Dilemma of Zephyr Solaris Energy, received an honorable mention in 2025's Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Case Competition. 

His research interests focus on AI governance, blockchain, cryptocurrency, digital economies, and the impact of counterfeit products. His work has been published in leading journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (M&SOM), Production and Operations Management (POM), and the Journal of Operations Management (JOM). He currently serves as a Senior Editor at Production and Operations Management (POM) and as an Associate Editor at Transportation Research Part E (TRE) and the International Journal of Production Research (IJPR). He also served as the PhD director during 2022-2026.
