Copyright

Copyright basics

Copyright is the term used to indicate someone has the ownership of – or rights to – a document, image, music, or even a performance, and the terms of their distribution and use, in the same way we may own an object, such as a car. Copyright holders have the legal right to decide IF you can use something, and under what circumstances, and for what cost.

Guidelines for use of copyrighted material

This document explains the policies and practices regarding use of copyrighted material in class, for exams, and elsewhere within the School. All materials, including those belonging to Ivey, Harvard, Darden, and other collections, are subject to both copyright regulations and contractual obligations.
